Professor Tom Greggs

PhD (Cantab), DLitt, FRSE

He is the Marischal Chair (1616) of Divinity at the University of Aberdeen, where he has also served as Head of Divinity. A Methodist Preacher, Tom serves on the World Council of Churches’ Faith and Order Commission. He has published ten books, including, most recently: The Church in a World of Religions; Barth and Bonhoeffer as Contributors to a Post Liberal Ecclesiology; The Breadth of Salvation; and A Dogmatic Ecclesiology Vol. 1: The Priestly Catholicity of the Church. He is currently working on four projects: a book on the future of Theology in Church and Academy; a new textbook on Systematic Theology; the completion of a co-authored book on Scriptural Reasoning with a Muslim and a Jewish colleague; and the second volume of his triology, Dogmatic Ecclesiology Vol. 2: The Prophetic Apostolicity of the Church. Educated at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, Tom now lives with his wife and young daughter in rural Aberdeenshire, where he keeps a kitchen garden and orchard.
